Off-Season Training: Part 4; Champions Are Created In The Off-Season

We know that in order to win, you have to perform. We all want to be crowned and titled as champions but we tend to get lazy when its time to actually put in the work. You can’t be a champion if you don’t perform and its hard to perform if you don’t put in the work. Champions are created during practice. Champions are created during work-outs. Champions are created in the sweat box. Champions are created in the tedious exercises and scrimmages. Champions are created in the off-season. Champions are not created at the point of victory. Champions are only crowned at the point of victory.

If I may say, YOU were already a champion when the season started. YOU were already a champion while the game was being played. YOU were already a champion before it was declared before people. It just hadn’t been announced yet! You became a champion when you started training! You became a champion when you decided to play instead of quitting. You’ve went through strengthening and conditioning. You’ve spent countless hours preparing yourself mentally and spiritually. You’re ready for this.

In the first part of the series, we talked about being caught off guard. At this point, you should be equipped enough to handle the unexpected. Because you’ve trained for it. The persecution can be ignored now because you’ve trained for it. The disappointments won’t be able to break you now because you’ve trained for it. The pop quizzes to test your faith won’t get the best of you like they used to because you’ve trained for it. Your fasting and praying was not in vain. Your late night petitioning was not in vain. Your studying and researching was not in vain. Your sowing and encouraging words were not in vain. You were simply building yourself up to be the champion that you are now! All of this was your off-season training! It doesn’t feel good sometimes and I’m pretty sure you’ve wanted to quit, but you didn’t! And thank God you didn’t! Quitters could never be champions.

You deserve the title. You trained hard in the off-season and you endured the competitions just to be called the CHAMPION!!
