Preparing While Petitioning

How many times have you prayed the prayer of Jabez? How many times have you asked God for greater? How many times have you “claimed” something? Last question, after you petitioned for it, did you prepare for it?

For example, God enlarges our territory. We lose it because we are so programmed to think small ONLY. The big stuff is unfamiliar to us so it scares us. We don’t take care of it, we don’t nurture it, we don’t know how to keep it! So we forfeit it. We allow it to “go back”, we allow it to deteriorate….all because we are accustomed to small…all because we speak about our greater but it’s all out of formality. We never prepare mentally for the greater so we fail to hold on to it! We can be blessed with a 4 bedroom home but because our mentality is on 1 bedroom apt., we neglect the home…and once we forfeit it, what do we do? DOWN SIZE! Why? Because our mentality has not expanded. We are still not capable of handling greater! But we keep asking for it and God keeps giving but we keep losing! Not only that but when we lose it, we find a scapegoat to blame it on! Instead of looking in the mirror and admitting that we are not equipped in that area, we blame it on the blessing! Wow! We start saying silly stuff like “It’s just too much space” or “It’s too time consuming” or “it’s too much responsibility!” We actually make the blessing the problem…when it’s actually us that are ill prepared and, in some cases, immature. I’m not talking about making a wise decision because of finances or convenience. I’m talking about mindset and mentality! We’ve been trained to always look for and speak greater! This is great as long as you’re prepared! Because we fail to prepare for greater, we continue to mess up our blessings! Don’t let your words speak you into something that you know you’re not ready for! Upgrade your mind! Expand your thinking! Prepare while you petition!
